Most homestay scams look exactly like a normal booking — “pay first, then I send the address.” The safe check: paste the owner's bank account number or phoneinto PDRM's official scam checker, SemakMule. If it's been reported, you'll see it.
- • Pay into a traceable account — avoid random personal accounts you can't verify.
- • Ask for the homestay name and a video/live location, not just an address.
- • Be wary of prices far below the going rate.

“Muslim-friendly” here follows MOTAC's MFAR idea: a prayer space (surau/sejadah, qibla marked), halal-safe kitchen, and no alcohol on the premises. Owner-stated facilities show with a ~ until we confirm them.
